How long will my results last?

There is no precise answer to this question. Surgery does not affect the ongoing aging process which is largely dependent upon genetics. What cosmetic plastic surgery does is turn back the clock. Unfortunately, aging is inevitable. Although with cosmetic surgery, you are able to continue to look more youthful and in shape.

What kind of anesthesia is used?

Our doctors perform surgery under most types of anesthesia: local anesthesia, intravenous sedation ("twilight"), general anesthesia and regional anesthesia (nerve blocks). The method of anesthesia used is based on the patient and surgeon's preference.

Are there risks involved in breast augmentation surgery?

Every surgical procedure entails some risk. Those associated with this type of surgery are infection, changes in the sensitivity of the breast, and scar contracture. These and other complications rarely occur and can usually be avoided. Thousands of women undergo breast augmentation successfully each year and are very satisfied with their outcome.

How does Restylane work?

Restylane works in two ways: Upon injection, into the mid to deep dermis (middle skin layer), the NASHA™ gel adds volume and fullness to smooth facial wrinkles and folds. It integrates into dermal tissue, then attracts and binds to water molecules to help maintain volume.

Is Restylane effective?

Yes. Clinical studies show that patients injected with Restylane for the treatment of facial folds achieved an optimal cosmetic result. These results were sustained for a longer period of time (as much as twice as long) than with collagen.

Restylane has been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 1996 worldwide. Because Restylane is non-animal-based and fully bio-compatible, allergy testing is not required. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days.

How does BOTOX® work?

BOTOX® is injected into a muscle, where it affects the nerve by preventing the release of the chemical that tells the muscle to move. This paralyzes, or relaxes, the muscle. Since tight muscles cause certain wrinkles on the face, BOTOX® can smooth them.

What problems will BOTOX® treat?

In addition to over 180 medical uses, BOTOX® has many cosmetic uses, including treatment of frown lines, worry lines across the forehead, crow's feet lines, smile lines, lines around the mouth, downturned corners of the mouth, chin wrinkles, neck lines, "marionette's" lines running down from the corners of the mouth, and excessively sweaty armpits, palms, and feet.
