23 year old saline implants - Better than expected - I had searched for years in considering changing out my 23 year old saline implants that I had no problems with except some minor distortion on one side and a desire to have them closer. I was told by everyone it couldn’t be done. I stumbled across Dr OBrien by chance because I was interested in sientra implants and no many used them. I met him and loved that I did not long for any information. He told be 500 more things that I wouldn’t have thought to ask but was glad I knew. He made no promises but was willing to try to help me achieve my goals. Upon first seeing myself without the wrap, both of my problems were resolved and they were so much closer. Not knowing a single person who went to him, I made the best decision to trust him. He was hands on through the whole process. From my consultation, when he came to get me out of the waiting room to the day of surgery when he helped me get up on the OR table and helped position me himself. Wow!!! What doctor does that. I chose him because of his impressive credentials, and the all important pictures of his previous work. I went for a breast reduction and felt at a loss to tell him what I wanted. I just knew I wanted smaller. After speaking with him, I was comfortable that he seemed to know just what would work best for my body type and what I wanted to achieve. All of the staff really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable - Katie in particular was my go to girl for questions. Crème de la crème! I had a mommy makeover. Dr. O’Brien did an outstanding job. I had a previous unexpected surgery years ago that left a vertical scar on my abdominal area that was very embarrassing, it is gone. Dr. O’Brien’s cuts are perfect. I had two separate lymphatic massages recently and both ladies said that Dr. O’Brien did a great job. They said they have seen many botched surgeries. I’ve never had a Dr. come out to the waiting room to get me himself for my first consultation. From that moment on, everything was done to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. Everything was explained to me throughly in a relaxed atmosphere. When I came in for my surgery, everyone there put me at ease and made me feel so confident. After the surgery, I walked to the recovery myself, had very little discomfort and went home in the morning. I had a pain pump for three days, but other than that, I actually never took a pain pill. I’m 62, and two months out from my surgery, and I could not be happier with the results! I could not be happier with the results! - John O’Brien performed my breast reduction on March 4th, 2021, and I could not be happier with the results!! I have wanted this surgery for years, and I am so glad I went through with O’Briens team! It’s such an intimate procedure, but I felt comfortable immediately after waking into The St. Petersburg Center for Plastic surgery. I had giant breasts, measuring around a 34 H/I. I was so uncomfortable both physically, and from the stares my chest attracted on my 5 foot 4, 140 pound frame. I had daily shoulder pain and I had to special order my bras (which always left huge indents in my skin). I have wanted a breast reduction for about 5 years, but i needed to save up money (I had bad insurance that didn’t cover if). I love Dr. O’Brien and his staff. I had both a timmy tuck and breast implantation replacement and uplifting. I am sure that is not the technical terms, but you get the picture. I was back at my desk able to work within 4 weeks. The scaring in so minimal considering what was done and removing all the stretch marks and rolls of fat and skin I expected a scar. Dr. O'Brien put the scar far enough below the belly button that it is easily covered by bikini cut clothing. The staff is very friendly and considerate. They talk to me and welcome me by name. The surgery was remarkably easy and they advised, anticipated and made sure I had as pain free a recovery as was possible. Sientra Opus Implants - 32A to 32DD/32DDD - 47 years old 121lbs - I wanted to share my story and experience with my breast augmentation in the hope it will help others make an informed decision about whether or not to go ahead with it. I was never a busty lady even when I was significantly overweight. Having lost about 45lbs over the years, my chest pretty much disappeared.... I actually waited a few years to make sure my weight remained stable and after 2.5 years, I decided to go ahead and get the surgery. I am very detail orientated, did a lot of research into different implant types etc. and decided to use Dr. John J. O'Brien here in St. Petersburg based on reviews, and website photos. I was very specific about the types of implants I wanted - Sientra gummy bear implants - and he was one of the only surgeons in the area that worked with this brand. I spoke with several surgeons but the other two were not a "hell yes" for me which was basically a "no". Words to live by - trust your own inner guidance. I will update my review in stages as I have a ton of photos. I am over a month post-op now.... back to business. I actually recovered very quickly - maybe between weeks 3 and 4? More to come! 5 stars is definitely not enough for such an amazing surgery center. I cannot stress how happy I am with my decision to go with Dr. O’Brien for my breast augmentation!! I had met with many other plastic surgeons and each and everyone of them seemed very self-absorbed and would tell me exactly what they had planned for my breasts without even asking me FIRST what I would like and I was not a fan of that. Before making my consultation, I spoke a lot on the phone and emailed back and forth with Erin Blackburn, who is an absolute sweetheart, and she helped me out by answering all the questions I had for her. They fit me in for a consultation fairly quick, compared to other surgeons in the area, and I fell in love with the atmosphere! Not only was Dr. O’Brien very helpful in answering my surgery-related questions, but he genuinely wanted to know what I wanted so that he could provide that for me. He informed me of many different approaches to breast augmentations and explained to me the pros and cons of each one and told me his opinion on how I should proceed but also encouraged me to research on my own since it is a decision that affects MY body and not his. I felt heard when so speaking with him. He was not self-absorbed AT ALL, which is rare in surgeons. Not only was he amazing, but so is his staff! Everyone is so nice and welcoming and makes you feel and more excited about your upcoming procedure. They respond so quickly and are always on top of everything. One other thing that I liked about this location is that they accept Care Credit- for the deposit AND the surgery itself, which definitely helps a lot financially. I just recently got my breast augmentation done by Dr. O’Brien and the day I saw the results, I was in shock. They were everything I had ever wanted and more. Most people don’t like the look of their breasts directly after surgery because it takes a few weeks to a few months for the breasts to fall and look more natural, but I loved them a day after.. so I can’t even imagine how much I’ll love them in a few more weeks or months. I just want to thank Dr. O’Brien and his staff once again for giving me a wonderful experience and a pair of tatas that I will love forever!! I got the whole kit and caboodle . Totally worth it! Had a complication blood clot after tubing was removed but the team took very good care of me. Literally had me coming into the office every day until clot was in healing mode. I had it done around Christmas time and have to say they treated me like family. When I decided to have a tummy tuck, I searched for doctors in my area. (Ocala, Gainesville.) I did not hear back from some and others just sent a generic email. I wanted to ask a real person questions. I decided to search St Pete, where I used to live. I not only got an immediate email from Dr O'Brien's office, I also received a call. I was treated with great respect and asked a few questions. I scheduled a tele-chat with Dr O'Brien who answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Recently I had gone with a friend to a different practice because of a “deal” offered. Turns out it wasn’t a deal at all when I paid almost twice as much for my “usual” treatment despite it being advertised at a significantly lower price per unit. Couldn't be more happier!! Also, have not lost any sensation in nipples. Was a huge worry of mine but instead they are more sensitive than before.Updated on 14 Aug 2020:Only a week and loving the results so much!Feel and look amazing. Stopped taking pain meds after a couple of days. Only feel heavy when getting out of bed. Definitely feels "safer" with my sports bras for now but can't wait till I don't need to wear one. Not Rock hard anymore but still very firm.Updated on 21 Aug 2020:Been a little over two weeks and feeling great.Right breast still gets a few sharp pains through it but quickly goes away. I know a lot of people worry about that, I did. Softening a lot and getting squishy. Was told I can go bra shopping in a couple of weeks already yay!! So very curious to find my new size.Also, thought my piercings closed up completely but didn't. Just needed to be stretched. I love them more and more each day.Updated on 13 Sep 2020:It's been a little over a month which seems crazy long ago but sounds so short. Definitely a lot has happened since. My boobs are absolutely beautiful. They've already dropped fully and incisions are healing well. Left faster than right. Though, I did end up taking my rings back out due to being pregnant. I was so freaked out when I found out that I called my surgeon before my regular Dr ????They said everything will be fine. So, I wanted big breasts and though I was slightly staying to feel they weren't as big as I wanted they definitely are now. However after the baby is another story. Hopefully I will still be able to breastfeed. Unfortunately, the pregnancy has caused a few new stretch marks, needing to go get more oil. Anyway, here they are 5 and a half weeks later...Updated on 4 Feb 2021:Doing amazing even though I am almost 7 months pregnant. Scars are healing wonderfully.Still best decision I've ever made! Was sized a month ago again and squuzing into a 36G Was a little worried in wouldn't be able to breastfeed but already leaking so all good! Love my boobs! More

absolutely amazing, I'm going to John since a few years for botox and fillers and never had any issues not even bruising NOT ONCE if you are looking for a surgeon chose him. I live in Brandon and been looking all over the place to find a surgeon with top skills...you know what I'm talking about if you are looking through google reviews of other surgeons in the area, you will always find one or two reviews that are not so great and I'm very careful when it comes to my face. It has been two years since my Coolsculpting revision process began with Dr. O'Brien. I want to thank the Dr. and his staff for the professionalism, support, and love I felt during this process. It was the little things they did that made me think that they cared about me as a person and not as just a patient. The Tummy Tuck and later Liposuction I received from Dr. O'Brien was the result of two Coolsculpting procedures, which caused me to have a condition known as adipose hyperplasia. This happens when, instead of your fat-melting, it grows. Mine was an advanced case where you could see the large blocks of fat in the shape of the Coolsculpting paddles on my stomach, flanks, and thighs. I could cross my arms and lay them across the block of fat sticking out of my stomach.I found Dr. O'Brien after the first doctor who did the Coolscuplting told me that he couldn't help me; don't contact him again, and oh, by the way, you now need one of the most invasive elective surgery to fix it. You need a Tummy Tuck. The physical effect was visible, but what I didn't count on was the mental impact this would have on me. This was scary and depressing. If I wanted a Tummy Tuck and Lipo, I would have done it in the first place. Now I had to find a Dr. I could trust to do the Tummy Tuck. What made the revision process manageable was Dr. O'Brien. If you are someone who needs a doctor and his team to help you through a Plastic Surgical revision, you want to have Dr. O'Brien do your surgery. I can't image another doctor holding my hand for two years while we work through this process, but that is precisely what he did. As a patient, you want a doctor that will give you the information you need to hear and not what you want to hear, and it was hard for me sometimes slow down and listen, but again, the best thing I did was trust Dr. O'Brien, and I suggest you do the same. If you are someone who had an adverse effect from CoolScuplting or you are choosing an elective Plastic Surgery, in my opinion, Dr. O'Brien, the best person to do the job. More

I am no stranger to plastic surgery, and have had several procedures done on my body over many years, both invasive and non-invasive (breast reduction, augmentation, liposuction, botox, coolsculpting, etc.), but I was afraid to do anything to my face. I'd had an accident in my 20s that left one eyebrow much lower than the other, and my eyelids both looked heavy, prompting people to ask me all the time if I was tired. I started looking into what I could do to improve the tired appearance and level out my eyebrows in November 2018. I met with Dr. O'Brien as part of that, and he made several suggestions about what I could do, such as a brow lift and upper blepharoplasty, but he also did not pressure me to do anything. In addition, I asked about ultherapy, another non-invasive treatment. Dr. O explained that I was not a candidate for the treatment because I have a pacemaker, and he would not even consider it (which I respect and appreciate). So I stuck with Botox for the time. I did look into a few other local surgeons in St. Pete. I was frustrated that their websites lacked information about the most modern ways to perform the procedures, and when I tried to reach out to some of them, I either could not get through, didn't get a response, or if I did get a response, it was like I was an inconvenience. It was no question that I was going back to talk to Dr. O'Brien. I got a breast augmentation done with Dr. O'Brien. Before I came to him i went to two other known doctors for consultation. Dr. O'Brien was so different from them. When I came to see him he was very personable, told me about his practice and himself and then asked me about myself and why I came to see him. Best Plastic Surgeon in St.Petersburg - My fiance and I decided to give each other plastic surgery for Christmas instead of a trip this year. My fiance, who is extremely picky, is also a physician and already knew of Dr. O'Brien's quality of work. He had decided that he wanted to get a partial face lift. I had been to Dr. O'Brien before and had good results, so I decided to get breast augmentation. Dr. O'Brien was very accommodating on scheduling around our busy schedules and the holidays. We had our surgeries about a month apart, and are both healing well. I have heard many people say that the best Plastic Surgeons in the bay area can only be found in Tampa, or even further away... Miami. This is so NOT true, and the prices here are way more competitive than in those areas. If a physician (who has professional knowledge of others in this business) would choose this physician to work on himself, it says a LOT! It is sometimes difficult to find a doctor that you like as well as the office staff. I started having symptoms in 2017 and my 3D mammogram confirmed they had to be replaced. I did some research and found Dr. John J. O'Brien. I am so happy that I found him. After my initial consult, I set up the procedure. His staff was very friendly and helpful. The Doctor explained everything to me and was very kind to me. I was given thorough instructions for how to recover after the surgery and I had very little discomfort and was back to work in less than a week. The price was very reasonable and he maintains a very clean on-site surgical facility with a nurse and anesthesiologist. Dermal fillers cheek and lip injections - Dr. O’Brien was wonderful. He listened to my concerns and resolved them. I went in for lip injections and cheek fillers to fix under eye bags/lines that extended into my cheek area. He was even helpful enough and saved me quite a bit of money from the original quote. Recovery little harder than expected, but at 12 weeks I am back at the gym, still a little swelling. Very pleased with my results.Updated on 27 Oct 2017:I'm loving my new tummy at 12 weeks. I feel great mostly but getting back into my full workout has been a challenge. Pushups are on the knees after 3-4, plank hold down to 15-30 sec. Keeping it light on weights and started interval training 60:30 up to 3 miles. Listening to my body and when I feel any pain or discomfort I stop. Feeling like I may have gained a couple of pounds but staying clear of scales. I do know that my waist fluctuates depending on swelling. Considering I'm 57 years old, I think I'm doing great! Sagging Face and Spirits to Go with It - Saint Petersburg, FL - After having a lower facelift by a different doctor with none of the result I was promised, I went to Dr. O'Brien to see if fillers could be used to improve the 'parentheses' that still framed my mouth. In January of 2015 I had a mammogram that revealed a ruptured implant. I have had these since 1984 and they were the original implants. Dr. O'Brien removed them and did what they call a "lollypop" lift which is not a full lift. Absolutely no problem post op whatsoever and it feels great to have them out. I don't feel they were causing any health issues but were bigger than I had wanted and very firm. Finding clothes that fit was a problem also. Great to have natural feeling breasts even though they are slightly saggy. After having the implants in for that long I'm satisfied and happy with the results. More

He would never know during the healing process that I was going to scar like this. I have scars along my Jolle line and forehead they are in the perfect shape of squares from the laser head. It is now six years later I am 48 and have to cover these scars every day. They are not raised just hypo pigmented scars. The plastic surgeon said there was no solution for this problem except try to whiten/bleach the skin. I have been doing this the entire time and it has not changed. Heartbroken. More
I would definitely recommend this procedure for anyone who is wanting to loose body fat, but also who follows a healthy diet and exercises. I did choose to be put to sleep for procedure, but not under general anesthesia. I woke up without any pain at all just slight tenderness. I was prescribed pain meds which were never used. I just used ibuprophen to take discomfort away. Part of my painless post-op recovery I attribute to my fantastic doctor. Explant Surgery - Florida, FL - In January of 2015 I had a mammogram that revealed a ruptured implant. I have had these since 1984 and they were the original implants. Dr. O'Brien removed them and did what they call a "lollypop" lift which is not a full lift. Absolutely no problem post op whatsoever and it feels great to have them out. I don't feel they were causing any health issues but were bigger than I had wanted and very firm. Finding clothes that fit was a problem also. Great to have natural feeling breasts even though they are slightly saggy. After having the implants in for that long I'm satisfied and happy with the results. More

I have scars along my Jolle line and forehead they are in the perfect shape of squares from the laser head. It is now six years later I am 48 and have to cover these scars every day. They are not raised just hypo pigmented scars. The plastic surgeon said there was no solution for this problem except try to whiten/bleach the skin. I have been doing this the entire time and it has not changed. Heartbroken. More

Looked very natural, however they needed to be replaced. At 28 yrs old I had my second BA with 350 cc Mentor saline textured implants. They came our beautiful and I was happy once again. I was still in the beauty industry as a makeup artist and looks were a huge part of my success and "image". So here at 40 my implants are uncomfortable, one is riding hight on my chest and the other is hanging lower, out of the pocket maybe? I just want to be me and be comfortable in bras, clothes and when I sleep. In the last 3 years I have gotten more uncomfortable by the day. I feel like they are hard balls sitting on my chest! BA Revision from Saline to Silicone 425s for This Mud Runner :) - Saint Petersburg, FL - Well where do i start..four years ago at age 21 i had a BA and was told i ended up with 270ccs saline in both.. found out today after surgery that was WRONG and my medical card wasnt right.. im not going to name names but my first dr in California was terrible. From the get-go i noticed a difference in size in both breasts... So finally this time around in florida (recently moved here due to my husbands career) i met with 7 revisional doctors to make sure i found the one. The whole reason from my revisional was due to the fact that my left was tubular and my right i had noticed was started to bottom out and sag significantly! ! I didnt even want to take my top off around my husband anymore. After weeks of meeting with drs i finallt decided on the perfect surgeon :) dr John o brien in st pete fl .. hes been absolutely amazing from the start. He told me exactly what was going on with my breasts, why all these things occurred, helped me with sizing and placement suggestions etc. It really was an answer to prayer because everyone at his office has been heaven sent. I had my surgery this morning nov 4 at 8am.. it lasted a little longer then two hours because doc said he really cleaned them all out and they look great.Im so excited to see them hopefully tomorrow. Im resting comfortably with what feels like my husband sitting on my chest lol jk hes a wrestler so id imagine him sitting on me would feel like this haha..hes not but im just saying ;) im off to sleep.. ill be dreaming of running and lifting weights haha.Ill update with pics soon Updated on 9 Nov 2014:Well these past few days have been rough.. im really sensitive to pain meds so ive been trying to ween myself off which i am completely off meds.. just taking generic Tylenol as needed. As far as my girls go lol they r doing great my left is dropprd much faster then the right but im super sensitive to the touch. When i shower i kinda freak out lol but its getting better. I still have a littlw of a stretching type feeling in my chest since the doctor said my skin was super tight but all is well were actually headed to the grocery store. .ive been taking walks to get my blood circulating and thats helped my swelling go significantly down. I had a full facelift, brow lift, neck. The whole works. When I saw the results, I was amazed! He performed a miracle. I call him "Miracle Man." This year I went for an arm lift which I severely needed due to losing 80 lbs. over 12 years ago. My arms look like a young girl!In case you can't tell, I adore Dr. O'Brien & his staff is amazing. Prior to my consultation, I did my research and found Dr. O’Brien is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, which means he is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. Finding a doctor that was a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon was the most important qualification as I started my quest for breast augmentation. 45 Yr Old Lower and Upper Eye Lids - Saint Petersburg, FL - I was very self conscious with my lower lids. Dr. O'Brien suggested doing the upper lids as well and I'm very glad I did. The scar that I have is about 2 inches long and is fading more and more. I am pleased with the results and the cost with insurance. Overall I would definitely recommend him for lipoma removal. More

I had pain for one day and switched from pain pills to advil. I went from a very deflated, saggy 36A to a beautiful 36C. They look very natural and are proportionate to my overall size. I should've done this years ago. I am thrilled with the results.
